A Murderer of The Small Thing

I’ve made a big mistake.
I’ve stepped on an ant
as it walked near my feet.
Then the ant died…

Its friend came closer to it and…
I thought it’s scared,
I thought it cried
as it found its friend dying

What a shame!
How could I be so careless?
Ants are everywhere
They wander here and there
seeking something to survive on
I should’ve been more careful walking

I can’t believe this
Stepping isn’t just putting the sole to the floor anymore
It’s about being mindful of other lives around

I’m a murderer of the small thing
No excuse, nor forgiveness
What kind of sentence do I deserve?

If my feet feel sore tonight,
maybe the ant’s spirit is taking revenge
on me.
